Inductive sensors are generally considered to be one of the most important components of industrial machines, as well as all automated processes. The principle of operation of inductive sensors is based on the dependence of the inductance of the coil on the magnetic resistance in the electromagnetic circuit or on electromagnetic induction. The advantage of inductive sensors is in contactless operation, which brings a reduction in wear and a very long service life, and the disadvantage is the detection of exclusively magnetic materials.

They are mostly made of a high degree of IP protection (IP65-IP67) and thus insensitive to adverse environmental influences (moisture, dust).
