The PLC Interface relay is an electromagnetic switch operated by relatively small electric current that can turn on and turn off a much larger electric current.
It is used where the transmission must be controlled by a low power signal.
It can be used to amplify the signal as well. PLC interface relay can switch both direct current and alternating current. When signaling, they isolate between input and control units. Leakage current is filtered to prevent it from being stuck in the "open" state when the relay is turned off.
